Verma joined Sodexo UK and Ireland in 2007 as an HRD. Following several international roles he was appointed as senior vice president, human resources for Sodexo Corporate Services worldwide.
With more than 160,000 employees globally and a turnover of almost €6 billion, this is the largest division of Sodexo. Partnering with a corporate client base and instilling an overall ‘quality of life’ ethos, there is an emphasis on ‘adults at work – wherever and whenever they work’.
Verma is passionate about understanding the changing workplace and the global trends that affect it. Enhancing the employee experience, leveraging workplace intelligence, innovating through digital transformation, and engaging multi-generational talent where a sense of belonging and inclusion makes a real difference are HR enablers for growth that he is strategically driving with his team.
Prior to joining Sodexo Verma led HR shared services for Santander UK and was part of the HR leadership for the bank. His early career started in general management, before moving to Ford Motor Company where he worked in both specialist and generalist HR roles across different brands and geographies, including Jaguar Land Rover cars.
Verma graduated in law from the University of London, has an MBA from Warwick Business School and is a fellow of the CIPD. In 2018 he was privileged to have been listed in the Financial Times top 100 BAME executive leaders.
Outside of work he is married with two teenage children, as well as a recently-adopted puppy. He has just completed a major home renovation project and is keen on property development projects and management.
